What the heck is OCC?
First, the CC part. You know the email line that has the cc: if you want to send a message to someone other than the primary person you are emailing? I think it stands for carbon copy, in reference to a bazillion years ago when we made paper carbon copies. My CC is kind of like that. It’s like a copy of your carbon self. #badorganicchemistryjoke
My CC stands for Centralized Character. I know, it sounds very serious, stay with me. It is serious, except for when it isn’t.
In our society, it is generally easier to be in the central point of the target if you have lighter colored skin and if you look like a cis-gendered male body. If you have darker colored skin, a non-male presenting body, a non-cis-gendered appearance, or other cultural, age, body-ability, language, or perceived “abnormal” characteristics—the waterfall might be further from your reach.
The best way for me to explain it is to play the Target Game.
