At the base of the mountain Near the river On my knees In the grass The smell of earth in my nose The sunlight bathing my skin The rush of the river in my ears The cool, dampness under my legs This is where I belong. This is me. Here I am completely free. To be beautiful. Without judgement. To feel it all Without effort. Complete reverence For our mother. In community with the Earth Divas. I drink the feeling into my heart Knowing it will have to last Another year. Or two. Even now I can dip into the Spring inside my heart And be nourished.
