Once upon an ocean,
a blue whale fell madly, deeply, and unexpectedly in love
with a rainbow-tailed robin.
This sort of thing rarely happens—
the ocean and sky are vast, each endless in its own way.
Perhaps it was destiny that played a hand.
The robin, who could fly high above the world,
had learned to read the rhythm of waves and wind.
One day, when she was lonely, she sang a call for a companion.
Far below, in the cold quiet deep,
the whale had felt that call—faint but undeniable—
and began to rise,
drawn by the sense that someone was coming.
Years passed.
The whale searched and swam and waited.
One day, in frustration, she cried out to the sky:
“Show me what I am not seeing!”
As she broke the surface with her cry,
the robin appeared.
