Of well-meaning individuals

Whose minds
Are bound to a mission,

In order to focus and harness
Their work energies,

In service to
A lofty ideal,

At the risk of their hearts
Losing connection,

Should they consider
Breaking free,

Can create invisible walls
So strong and solid

That they are perceived
Collectively as truth.

Those walls can result
In horrific actions, bloodshed, and loss.

The solution to this
Travesty of our race,

Is in the details
Mentioned above.

At the risk of their hearts
Losing connection

Our hearts are not so
Easily caged, you see.

We always love beyond
The limits of our minds.

Desire overrides intention
All day every day.

This is how the
harvesting of human energy works.

Autonomous, passionate,
powerful, mammals

Seek community
As their most natural state.

And will settle for sweet morsels
In the cage of their choice,

If they can remain in the vicinity of
The ones that they love.

Take heart powerful human!
Take YOUR heart,

And place it at the center
Of all that you choose.

Love cannot be contained
By any real or perceived wall.

Who do you love?
Who loves you?

Who can you love,
If you let your heart decide?

Close your eye holes.
Close your mouth.

Open your ears.
Feel your body’s longing to connect.

Now set your heart free.
And wait.

Wait for your heart.
To figure this complicated mess out.

Steady yourself when sweet morsels 
Within cages are offered.

Wait for your heart.
It will lead you—in its own perfect timing.

It will call you back
To the connection you can never lose.
