“Your gut is a library of memories—your own, your family's, and your body's. What you digest is far more than food.”
In our Wisdom of the Gut course, we explore the body not just as a machine, but as one of your body’s storytellers. The wisdom of your gut story can be told through eight distinct lenses that are defined through my Windows of Health.
In our last article, we opened the first three:
🦠 Window #1: Infection & Invasion — how microbial imbalance and energetic intrusion affect gut health
🪬 Window #2: Energy & Emotion — the impact of toxic foods, environments, and emotions on our gut health
🌊 Window #3: Trauma & Sensitivity — how your gut records unprocessed overwhelm, and allergies to food and environment
Today, we talk about the last pane in the gut’s personal story (#4) and begin looking at the window frame—Windows 5–8—which influence how you hold, filter, and inherit your experience.
🪟 Window #4: Structural & Genetic Factors
“Structure dictates function.”
Your gut doesn’t work in a vacuum—it works within a container. That container includes your spinal alignment, muscle tone, hydration, and the building blocks of your cells. But it also includes...
The neurotransmitters that shape your emotional rhythm
The medications you’ve taken
Your rhythms, schedules, habits, and routines
Your epigenetic expressions and inherited predispositions
This is the terrain where Western medicine often focuses: diagnosis, prescriptions, lab results. But we go further—inviting you to ask:
What kind of daily structure supports your digestion?
What foods, thoughts, and schedules actually build your wellbeing?
What kind of emotional scaffolding helps you feel safe and strong?
Your gut wisdom begins with what holds you up.
🪟 Window #5: Beliefs
“What you believe, you digest.”
Beliefs are the silent architects of perception.
From infancy, your nervous system has been cataloging what is safe, what is nourishing, and what is not. This shapes your Reticular Activating System (RAS)—the filter that decides what you even notice.
If your gut flares with every new food, or clenches with every email, it may not just be what you're eating. It might be what you believe.
Do you believe rest is earned?
Do you believe your emotions are too much?
Do you believe your body is broken?
When we teach this in the course, we guide you gently toward new internal truths. Beliefs can’t just be changed—they must be lived into.
Change the belief, and the body follows.
🪟 Window #6: Ancestral Patterns
“What you carry might not be yours alone.”
Some of what you feel in your gut—grief, shame, vigilance—did not start with you.
This window holds your lineage. From DNA to energetic imprints, our ancestors leave behind more than stories—they leave instructions. Some empower us. Some confuse or entangle us.
We call these entanglements miasms in medicine. They often show up as:
Autoimmunity
Unexplainable GI flares
Emotional themes that repeat across generations
We do not explore this with blame, but with reverence.
The ancestors are almost always trying to help—
but as in all family relationships, their help may need translation and firm, clear, boundaries.
In Wisdom of the Gut, we support this process with gentle inquiry, story reclamation, and energetic re-alignment.
Ready to digest more than just your meals?
This course is a sacred container for remembering your gut’s real wisdom—across time, structure, belief, and bloodline.
